FIRECHEM 1% Aqueous Film Forming Foam consists of Fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon surfactants blended with various solvents, preservatives and. It produces a vapour-sealing aqueous film that spreads rapidly over the fuel surface to provide rapid control and extinguishment. Fire Chem AFFF agents provide excellent burn back performance, superior drain time, and low application rates.

AFFF Foam Concentrates
  • The foam blanket blocks oxygen supply to the fuel.
  • Liquid drains from the foam blanket and forms an aqueous film that suppresses fuel vapor and seals the fuel surface.
  • The water content of the foam solution produces a cooling effect for additional fire suppression.
FireChem AFFF 1% is a superior quality aqueous film-forming foam concentrate designed for high-efficiency fire suppression.  This concentrate is specifically formulated to extinguish fires involving non-polar hydrocarbon fuels by creating a thin aqueous film that rapidly knocks down flames and prevents the release of fuel vapors.  By reducing the surface tension of the foam solution through advanced fluorocarbon surfactants, the liquid drains to form a film supported by the fuel's surface. This dual-action approach—where the foam blanket separates oxygen from the fuel while the water content provides a cooling effect—ensures rapid extinction and prevents dangerous re-ignition.

FIRECHEM 3% Aqueous Film Forming Foam is superior quality aqueous film-forming foam which can be used at the specified concentration to extinguish fires of non – polar hydrocarbon fuels. This extinguishing agent is suitable for use with most types of proportioning and discharge equipment.FireChem AFFF foam concentrates are designed for rapid fire knockdown by producing a thin aqueous film which helps to prevent the release of fuel vapours. The foam blanket from which the film forming liquid drains separates oxygen from the fuel surface, extinguishes the fire and prevents re-ignition. FireChem AFFF provides excellent penetrating and wetting qualities when used on Class A fires also. The water content of the foam provides a cooling effect. The aqueous film is produced by the fluorocarbon surfactant reducing the surface tension of the foam solution to a point where the solution can be supported by the surface tension of the fuel. This is important when extinguishing deep-seated fires in wood, paper, rubber and other ordinary combustibles.

Product Description FireChem AFFF 3% provides a robust fire-fighting solution for professional emergency responders and industrial safety teams.  This aqueous film-forming foam is optimized for use at a 3% concentration to combat non-polar hydrocarbon fuel fires.  The technology relies on a specialized foam blanket that effectively separates oxygen from the fuel surface.  Simultaneously, the water drained from the foam creates a cooling effect, which is critical for maintaining the integrity of the extinguished area and preventing the fuel from heating back up to its flashpoint.

Operational Performance

  • Proportioning Flexibility: Suitable for use with most types of proportioning and discharge equipment, including deluge or closed-head foam water sprinkler systems.

  • Wetting Capabilities: Beyond liquid fuels, it provides superior penetrating qualities for deep-seated Class A fires in ordinary combustibles like paper and rubber.

  • Cold Weather Reliability: If the product is inadvertently frozen, it can be thawed to become completely serviceable again without losing its original chemical characteristics.

  • Chemical Compatibility: It is suitable for use in conjunction with siliconised dry chemical extinguishing agents

Technical Specifications

  • Use Concentration: 3%
